Our Prodigy

Molly and Daddy spend a lot of time playing piano together. Molly likes the high notes best, but her favorite is the music ledge. And if there's a music book resting there, then Molly MUST eat it.

It's been a pretty busy week. Molly has learned to feed herself little veggie puffs (like Cheerios, but faster dissolving), and has 5 1/2 teeth (2 bottom, 4 top)! Only 1/2 a tooth because she broke one after hitting herself in the face with a toy. It was pretty traumatic...for me at least. It bled a bit, but the worst part was the next day when it turned black. After a few days, the black faded and I saw that it was broken. We have a dentist appointment this week to have it looked at and possibly filed so that she doesnt't hurst herself with those jagged edges.

Molly has also been sitting up and laying down on her own for a while. The fun new twist is that she sits up in her crib when we put her down for a nap, then screams. The screaming doesn't end until some one helps her lay back down...which she can do perfectly well on her own. It's a fun little mind game to play with Mommy.

Her backwards scooting is still going well, and this morning she made a tentative little creep forwards. She's also starting to pull up on, well, everything (Mommy, Daddy, the coffee table, her toys that can't quite hold her weight). The look of excitement on her face after she makes it up just lights up the room.

Our last big event this week was starting formula. We realized Molly has not gained much weight in the last couple of months which we think has to do with my decreasing milk supply. Her doctor suggested supplementing with formula, which we have done for the past few days. She loves it, but it's hard on Mommy. We're doing everything we can to keep nursing, but if she's still hungry she gets a bottle, too. Posted by Picasa
